Photo to Stippling Dot Art, Image Gallery

Used a photo to dot art converter to turn photos, drawings and paintings into dot art. After loading a photograph I pressed the Dots button. Then I watched the program quickly fill the canvas with thousands of dots. The result is a drawing that looks handmade.

I spaced out the tiny dots based on the intensity of the color. It is a way to depict different shades of gray with a single RGB value. Instead of using different colors, stippling uses different spacing or densities to create shades of the same color. The hard part was finding or making pictures that looked good as a black and white dot drawing.

You may want to use a rare and unusual drawing style, so your drawings stand out.

Stippling dot art is impressive, interesting and uncommon because creating it could take days, weeks or months. Most people do not have the time, skill or patience to make it. Using visible dots reduces the realism making the drawings more abstract. I like that they look handmade.

To create this gallery, I went through the images on my computer and picked out ones that might look good in black and white. Then I generated an artistic copy using black dots. Some were based on photographs. Others were based on AI generated images.

These are a few of the images I made with the computer program I wrote. It is digital art in a classic art style, that may be the most time-consuming and tedious art style when done by hand. When using a computer program, you may need to wait 20 seconds for the app to do the work for you.

Removing the color and increasing the white space simplies the image. Sketches and simple drawings don't require a lot of materials or planning. They are popular because they appear to be spontaneous, raw and uneddited. The drawing is a representation of an idea the artist had.

If you want to turn your photos into drawings or paintings without drawing or painting then try some of my digital art apps. Load a picture, choose some options, press a button and let the program do the hard work for you.
