To reduce fat through exercise you need to burn calories. The amount of calories you burn depends on your muscle mass, your weight and your metabolism. As you loose weight you will burn less calories. Increasing your muscle mass and speeding up your metabolism will increase the amount of calories you burn. Weight training increases your muscle mass and cardio speeds up your metabolism.

To reduce belly fat you should concentrate on doing cardio exercises 3 to 6 times a week. Include some weight training to maintain or increase your muscle mass. Pay close attention to you body and keep track of your progress. Progress is not how much weight you have lost but how much body fat. The first step to reducing belly fat is to reduce fat throughout the body. You may need to increase the intensity or length of your exercise to continue to make progress. Change your routine once in a while. If you body adapts it will become more efficient and you will burn less calories. Reducing you belly fat takes time. Continue to reduce fat throughout your body and your belly fat will gradually be reduced.

Food: Reducing the amount of calories you consume will make reducing fat a lot easier. The easiest way to reduce the amount of calories you consume is to watch what you eat and drink.
